Approach through Travelers Rest and climb the winding final miles in daylight. If the park lot is full, continue safely or return later; roadside parking is prohibited.

Approach Caesars Head through Greenville and Travelers Rest

GSP and Greenville provide the broadest airport and hotel choices. Travelers Rest is the final town for food and fuel before Highway 276 climbs to the park. Asheville and Charlotte require longer regional drives.

Food and fuel before Highway 276

Greenville provides the region's airport and broadest hotel choice. Travelers Rest has the final concentrated group of restaurants and fuel stops before Highway 276 climbs toward the park.

By air

GSP serves the Greenville approach

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport connects directly with the Greenville and Travelers Rest side of the trip. Asheville and Charlotte require longer regional drives.

At the park

Parking is first come, with no roadside overflow

Caesars Head does not take day-use parking reservations. There is no shuttle between Caesars Head and Jones Gap, so each park needs its own parking and route choice.

Before the final climb

Check the park advisory and current trail map

The overlook and restrooms follow posted park hours, trails close before sunset, and access conditions can change. Read the current South Carolina Parks advisory before leaving Travelers Rest.
